Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
After completeing her medical degree at The University of Melbourne and a residency at Austin Health, Carol trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at The Royal Women's Hospital and Wodonga Regional Health Service. She then moved to the Mercy Hospital for Women in 2010 to complete a year working in the Perinatal Department. In this role she developed experience in caring for women with high risk pregnancies as well as further experience in ultrasound.
She currently works in both private and public settings at the Mercy Hospital for Women. Her public commitment includes leading the 'Transitions' clinic, which cares for women with chemical dependency throughout pregnancy. She also holds a public position in general gynaecology with a special interest in menstrual disorders. She is a senior practitioner within the 'Early Pregancy Assesment Clinic' which cares for women with miscarriage and other first trimester pregnancy complications.
She has a particular interest in the provision of quality and safety in both healthcare systems and healthcare delivery. In 2009 she completed a fellowship in Qulaity & Safety at the Royal Women's Hospital and she has continued to persue this interest in the role of Quality Fellow at the Mercy Hospital for Women in 2011.Carol also has an interest in training the next generation of specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologists and co-ordinates the program for the specialists-in-training at Mercy Hospital for Women.
Carol has 3 young children and enjoys balancing her career with time spent at home with her family and her friends. Carol and her husband share a particular interest in environment and sustainability.
